Of Stone, Wind, and Pillor is an EP by American metal band Agalloch. It was originally meant to be released on 7 vinyl in December 1998 by Iron Fist Productions with only the first three songs, but that did not occur. It was later released in 2001 via The End Records with two additional tracks: Kneel to the Cross, recorded in 2001, and A Poem by Yeats, recorded in 2000. This release was limited to 2,500 copies. The cover artwork, Le Cerf Se Voyant Dans L'Eau, was by Gustave Doré. Album 2001 5 Songs. More By Agalloch. The Serpent & the Sphere. The Mantle. Ashes Against the Grain. Agalloch was an American metal band formed in Portland, Oregon, United States in 1995. On May 13th, 2016, Agalloch announced their disbandment. John Haughm released the following statement regarding the status of Agalloch: After being inundated by a barrage of responses, I feel that I should clarify some things. I take full responsibility for the decision to part ways with the other guys. It was difficult, well thought-out, and something that had been culminating over the past couple of years. I simply could not continue any further with the band as it was. I had to make a cha read more. Marrow of the Spirit. Of Stone, Wind and Pillor collects material left off Agalloch's first album, 1999's very impressive Pale Folklore. Its first three songs were previously released in a now hard-to-find 7, and sound quite similar to the depressive ambient folk-metal heard on the band's debut. The remaining two cuts offer more of a departure, and include an awkward-sounding cover of Sol Invictus' Kneel to the Cross and a low-key ambient instrumental named A Poem by Yeats. The stone awaits my fall Upon a grave I dug myself The birds sing their requiems Please lend me your wisdom to fly above the heavens, Across seas of gold, to my land of frostbitten, ageless night. Let me dig my own grave Let me, oh precious noose of mine You are my mother, whose womb around my neck Grants me a world of cold nihility An endless winter night A bitter, black frozen hell For me Forever Is this the pillor I must bear To die on this fucking world. With hate I die and burn. Agalloch discography misc. Tomorrow Will Never Come 2003. Agalloch discography all. Pale Folklore 1999. The Mantle 2002. Of Stone, Wind, and Pillor
