Album

There are moments, usually arriving in the first half, where Audioslave suddenly, inexplicably clicks, sounding like a band, not a marketer's grand scheme. His muted yet varied solo album proved that he needed muscle, but here it's all muscle, no texture or color. Whatever . While this album is not a classic, it is a very good rock album, and has only one main fault, that being that it is too long by a few tracks. The album was even nominated for the Best Hard Rock Performance 2004 Grammy Award. It was first released on November 18, 2002, through Epic Records and Interscope Records. Galvanised by their initial session, the newly-christened Audioslave wrote over 20 songs during three weeks of intensive rehearsals, meaning they could enter the studio to begin recording with Rick Rubin during the summer of 2001. Consequently, many of the songs sound like they're just on the verge of achieving liftoff, never quite reaching their potential. Can't understand why so many critics disliked it. Audioslave is the eponymous debut album by hard rock band Audioslave and was released in November 2002. With the sessions shuttling between Seattle and California, the initial impetus slowed, but by the summer of 2002, the album was complete and sounding very promising indeed. Producer and friend Rick Rubin suggested that they contact Chris Cornell. The album features the hit singles Cochise, Show Me How to Live, What You Are, Like a Stone, and I Am the Highway. Like a Stone was nominated for a 2004 Grammy Award for Best Hard Rock Performance. Can't understand why so many critics disliked it. On their 2002 debut, Chris Cornell's Beatles-derived sense of melody and sky-shaking vocal prowess and Tom Morello's furiously rhythmic guitar assault blended perfectly on the riff blasters Cochise and Show Me How to Live. Having listened to and analyzed the DVD side of the disc, I have not been able to get 20 bits out of it. In a variety of analytical tools, I am only seeing 16 bits. The album is 48 khz, but I believe it to be upsampled, as the difference from 44.1 appears to be empty. That being said, it is a different master from the CD. Is it better? Possibly, but not by much, if any. The Music On Vinyl re-issue sounds better in my opinion.
I agree, managed to find a .iso of the dvd side. DVD audio extractor only detects 16bit/48khz. No audible difference to my ears unfortunately. Disappointing, what essentially is the holy grail of Audioslave memorabilia, hyped up by word of mouth, only to be smashed by our expectations
The Music on Vinyl release was mastered from the existing digital master. No way it sounds any better than the CD.
Yeah if it's mastered by Vlado Meller then it's likely the exact same slammed master as the CD.
